Scania at Intermat 2003 Intermat, Paris, is an international exhibition of equipment and techniques for the civil engineering and construction industries.
At the Intermat, Scania launches a number of innovations tailored to the needs of the construction market, among them a new overdrive range-change gearbox, new hub reduction axles and protection systems for the transmission.
On display on the Scania stand is a Scania P114 CB6x4HZ 340 chassis with the new Scania GRSO900 overdrive gearbox and Scania BWA for tipping equipment.
This designation means that the vehicle has a low-mounted P-cab (P), an 11-litre engine (11), belongs to the 4-series trucks (4), is designed for construction use (C) as a rigid (B), is a six-wheeler with tandem bogie (6x4), has a high chassis (H) with
leaf-spring suspension (Z) and 340 hp (340).
Scania's Bodywork Adaptation (BWA) equipment includes a broad range of factory-fitted brackets, attachments, drawbeams and electrical fittings, as well as customised frame overhangs and hole patterns, etc.
