2000-09-21 - 2000-09-24
IAA exhibition in Frankfurt Featuring on the Scania stand are 4-series vehicles with the complete range of Euro 3-engines that have already proven their worth in operation with customers. Brand new is the Euro 3 V8-engine with new levels of power, torque and operating efficiency, as well as environmental characteristics. Scania’s range of services, marketed in Germany under the name of Scania OptiMile, has been extended. New IT solutions are shown, including telematics and fleet analysis systems.
The Scania stand (hall 6, stand A10) at the IAA 2000 in Frankfurt is the largest ever: 3,800 sq m. Among the highlights is the new V8-engine, on public display for the first time at a major international exhibition. A sectioned engine is shown, as well
as two trucks: R164 LA4x2NA 580, a long-haul tractor unit, and R164 GA8x4/4NB 580, a heavy-haulage tractor unit. Six more trucks illustrate the width of Scania's range of trucks offered on the German market. The stand also features three complete buses, one of which is brand new and adapted to suit German conditions. This is the Scania OmniLine IL94 - an all-aluminium intercity bus that will also be available as a German "Überland Bus" specification that
allows operators to run intercity during the weeks and use the buses as touring coaches during weekends and holidays. Other highlights is a Scania OmniCity CN94 full low-floor bus and a Scania Century K124 luxury coach available as a 4x2, 6x2 or 6x2*4,
the latter with a new steered tag axle. Back to listing
