EuroSatory 98 provided a complete overview of defence market trends for different equipment for land forces. Scania showedg its winning concept, "the Scania civilian vehicle program in uniform", which allows the customers to benefit from excellent availability when it comes to service and low maintenance costs.

The Military vehicle applications which were shown were a Tank transporter tractor T144GB6x4 that has been ordered by the Swedish and Belgian Army and a Hook handling vehicle P124CB8x6/4. The exhibition of engines included, among others, the Scania DS9, 310 hp/2200 rpm which has been chosen for a large repowering project of BMR and VEC vehicles for the Spanish army.
