Scania industrial, marine and power generation engines

With the changeover to a global engine platform, Scania’s new range of engines for industrial, marine and power generation applications is now available for customers all over the world.

With Scania-developed systems for engine management and emission control, the engine range provides an outstanding blend of performance and operating economy.

The new engines are available in versions that meet all of today’s emission requirements ranging, for example, from Stage II and Tier 2 to Stage IIIB and Tier 4i. The same engine platform will be used for Stage IV and Tier 4f in 2014, enabling similar installations to be used for all emission stages .

Industrial engines with generous torque at low revs

Important factors in the industrial engine segment are high uptime, good fuel economy and prompt engine response. These demands are all fulfilled with the new range.

The strict 2011 emission legislations applying in Europe and North America have been a major challenge for all engine manufacturers. Scania’s range of industrial engines is compliant to North American and European emission regulations and ready for even stricter standards that will commence in 2014.

The industrial engine range consists of 9-, 13- and 16-litre engines from 275 to 700 hp (202 kW-515 kW).

Power generation engines with improved step-load performance

The power generation engine range was launched in 2010 and uprated  with improved step-load performance, increased swept volume and 25 per cent longer service intervals, giving customers excellent operating economy and performance.
The engine range consists of 9-, 13- and 16-litre engines for prime power up to 550/636 kVA, 50/60Hz or for standby power up to 607/702 kVA, 50/60Hz. The new power generation engines meet emission standards up to Stage IIIA.

New marine engines with improved performance

Scania introduced a new range of 13-litre marine propulsion units consisting of engine, transmission and type-approved instrumentation in June 2011. The new engines span from 400 hp for continuous use up to 750 hp for patrol craft use.

The Scania marine engine solution, consisting of the new 13-litre marine engine, is the first in a new line of engines for propulsion and auxiliary use designed for maximum reliability and durability, as well as low operating cost.

The new 13-litre marine engines complies with emission standards IMO II, EU Stage IIIA and US Tier 2.
