The precondition for better environmental performance of Scania vehicles and engines is laid during research and development. Scania focuses on identifying optimal solutions from both an environmental and an economical perspective.
Estimates show that 95% of carbon dioxide emitted during the vehicle’s life-cycle is produced when operating the vehicle. As most Scania vehicles are designed for long-distance transport of goods or people, the global benefits of using as little fossil
petroleum as possible are Scania’s prime concern.
