  Environmental objectives

Scania establishes environmental objectives and targets in order to make the environmental policy more concrete.

Objectives are of a general nature and deal with issues such as the use of raw materials, chemicals, energy and water. Based on the objectives and local conditions, each operation or unit sets its own local targets. A local target is a goal that can be measured and evaluated on a quantitative basis. Several local targets can thus be linked and may have to be met in order to fulfil an objective.

Scania environmental objectives

  • Encourage open communication and dialogue with employees and other stakeholders regarding environmental issues.
  • Educate, train, motivate and support employees, customers and suppliers to perform their activities in an eco-efficient way.
  • Include environmental aspects in transport optimisation.
  • Reduce the amount and range of materials and chemicals that are in use and strive for alternatives with less environmental impact.
  • Reduce the use of energy and strive for use of energy produced with less environmental impact.
  • Reduce emissions to air, water and soil. Strive for more resource efficient and clean technology.
