Scania Value Quarter 2 2014

Demand for heavy trucks is increasing while the need for medium-duty haulage is decreasing. This is a global trend but differs between mature and emerging markets. The latest edition of Scania Value also focuses on the potential to cut carbon dioxide emissions. Scania Transport Laboratory has managed to halve carbon dioxide emissions per tonne-kilometre in five years and there is potential to reduce emissions further. Scania’s Head of Purchasing Andrea Fuder also explains about the more global approach to the company’s purchasing operations and about the positive effects from the collaboration with MAN.

Scania Value Quarter 1 2014

The latest edition of Scania Value focuses on services ‒ an area where Scania believes there will be growth and where the company is now taking a broader approach with new packages of services. The magazine also contains an interview with Scania’s Bengt Thorsson, Executive Regional Director, European Region, who believes that the European market will rebound during 2014. One of the drivers of this trend is that the average age of Europe’s truck population has increased – which means that there is a replacement need.
