95 Scania engines to Alvis Hägglunds
Scania has received an order from Sweden’s Alvis Hägglunds for 95 engines. They will be installed in Stridsfordon 90 (Combat Vehicle 90, CV90).
The new order from Alvis Hägglunds is for the Scania 16-litre V8 – an engine that is highly suitable in this type of special-purpose vehicles due to its compact dimensions. Depending on the application, the output of the engine is 620-680 hp.
Scania will deliver the engines during 2004. They will be built into Alvis Hägglunds’ CV90 vehicles for export to Finland and Switzerland.
We have previously supplied engines for the CV90 vehicles being used today by the Swedish and Norwegian armies, explains Lennart Hjelte, Senior Vice President and head of Scania Industrial & Marine Engines.
It is a great pleasure to continue our long-standing co-operation with Hägglunds by supplying our latest engine.
